Am I screwed? (Concerning SAT and College Admissions)

So I took the SAT in June, did pretty bad (Scored a 1430 or somewhere around there) and I had planned to re-take the SAT, but forgot to register!! And the deadline was yesterday for September's SAT!

So now, the next SAT will be in October, but the scores won't come out till November something, here lies the problem. I have to turn in my applications by the end of October don't I, so even if I took the Oct. SAT, I still won't get my new scores to send to the college(s) I'm applying for in time :(.

Am I screwed?

did you call them and ask? call the college you are applying to and ask about scores, also call Collegeboard, and ask if there is any chance to get on standby or something...worth a shot

what's the college and what's the deadline?

Check with particular college (go to its site and search for last test date taken) but as far as I know every college accepts the October test score for fall 2007 admission even for early decision (regardless of whether application deadline date is earlier; app deadline is not test score submission deadline)

you can usually update your scores... dont worry about it. it will probably work out fine. i think my official SAT scored were due by December or something on my Middlebury app last year.

You got a 1430 out of 2400?

This is another reason I am anti-SAT. Take the ACt before you take the SAT. You can choose which ACT score to send, colleges will never see the others (unlike the SAT). I think the ACT is a lot easier too. I got a 1500 on the PSAT (out of 2400). I took the ACT twice, and I managed to get a 27 (90th percentile). It's a more straight-foward test and doesn't have any of the trick questions you see on the SAT.
