okay, this is the reason i joined this site. i slacked off big time and my gpa basically sucks compared to my previous years in high school -- can anyone tell me if i'm screwed? i'm afraid that my admission to usc will be rescinded.. am i sade?

my first semester, i received a 3.4 academic gpa with 3 b's and 2 a's. (not too horrible for senior year.. right?)

anyways, i'm in the middle of second semester, and my grades are horrible compared to before! in the worst case scenario, i will receive 2 Cs, 2 Bs, and 1 A. in the most likely scenario, i will receive 2 Cs, 1 B, and 2 As. in the best case scenario, i will receive 1 C, 2 Bs, and 2 As.

let's just say.. i end up with the worst case scenario.. am i screwed?

what about for the most likely scenario.. and the best case?

thanks people of cc i'm a bit worried so i need some reassurance and second opinions :)

Last year USC rescinded 3-4 acceptances. But most private schools will not rescind acceptance as compare to most UCs. For example, last year Wellesley did not rescind one person with a D.
I think the whole reason is that it might affect their yield rate and so they are very unlikely to do that, unless you get Ds and Fs.
