Am i screwed??

Hi guys.. first day on this college confidential thing.. basically i need to know straight up what my chances of college are... if so, any suggestions? I would prefer a school in a somewhat large college town but now i would take anything better than community college. would like any input i can get. Thanks in advance.

Grade:11th
School: McLean Hs (ranked 55th in the country)
Gpa: 2.8
Sat: 1800

Current classes and grades
AP Calculus AB: F(55%ish)
Spanish 3: F (around 65%)
Physics: A (95%)
Advanced tech drawing: A (99%)
AP Psychology: A (91%)
English 11: A (93%)
Us History: B (88%)

I have a few unimportant extracurricular, but the best one i have is crew. I am a coxswain. I did crew freshman and sophomore year and we did great (3rd place at nationals sophomore year) The main problem with that though is that its a huge time commitment and since i am failing 2 classes i cant keep up with it, so I wont be coxing this year.

Thats basically it. My grades suck. I'm a really hardworking student but some of my classes are really tough for me. I have a tutor in calculus but i'm still failing. And if it matters I was diagnosed with ADD at the end of freshman year and now i'm medicated, but still struggle a bit from that.

Thanks a lot for your input

well how were your grades in freshman and sophomore year. If they were worse then u can show a gradual improvement. You aren’t screwed screwed. Just you need to do some work from now and the start of college apps. If you can’t cope with the work see if u can drop the class pick a easier version then try the same class next year. Btw what college you trying for??

good luck in calc

I’m not really sure but i know that they have progressively been getting worse. But my classes are way too hard and my mom won’t let me drop them.

What are you interested in studying?

Location?

Tuition?

Campus Setting?

Here’s a message for your Mom from a Dad whose daughter was a recruited college athlete whose 11th year grades were similar at this point.

So, if it’s not too late;

Drop the two classes you’re doing poorly in and do crew.

Crew is your ticket to a great college.

If possible, find another school to take Spanish 3 (not sure if you can do that with an AP class)

Your situation is very similar to where my daughter was in 11th grade. It was tough to navigate, but it can be done.

Also, try the ACT, and find some private tutors for that.

Good luck.

well its your classes not hers. If you know you can’t improve the grade by the end of the year then drop out. You dont need to keep torturing yourself because of your mom. I know she might say, eventually u might adjust to the rigors of the class but thats if you really like the class are determined to get an A. If you do continue with ap calc and get a good grade u can probably use that in your college apps. How u conquered ADD and other obstacles and how it made you stronger.
