I applied to Ross pre admit right around the RD deadline. My stats are great (I hope), 4.0 W, full IB, 4.7 W, top of class but OOS, lots of volunteering. My concern is that my Why Michigan pretty much completely focused on The Ross School of Business and its programs/classes. Given that Ross is unlikely to be taking me in, as I am RD, would this effect their admission decision for LSA? UMich is by far my top choice right now.
I applied to LSA and Ross pre-admit as well. I don’t think it makes a big difference because I didn’t hear anything back from Ross on the first decision date even though I was accepted early to LSA.
@hhammoud23 did your essay focus almost exclusively on Ross as well?
Nope not screwed at all. Just impatient. Don’t blame you. People get accepted to Ross through the deadline and past. See how it all plays out. But first you got to get accepted to LSA then Ross. One hurdle at a time.
@knowstuff thanks for the response. My only concern was that because my essay seemed to focus on Ross programs, LSA might no accept me as I did not talk about that school at all.
@excalibur123 nope. If you were passionate and interesting and personal then your good. Lots of students don’t get into Ross but do get into LSA each year. What I would be thinking about is would you accept an offer from Michigan if you don’t get into Ross? Also start looking at your other choices acceptances. Would you go there instead? This way if you don’t get into Michigan you’ve started this next process already.
Good Luck.
