I got a C in Physical Education.
I just moved to Virginia and when my grades transferred over, I found that I had a C in Phys Ed because I was absent for so many days while I was school/house-hunting in VA. I highly doubt I can make this up. Will it completely kill me to have a 'C' on my transcript?

a bit... maybe. it'll drag down your rank and gpa, but when you send in your application, you can add a letter or personal statement giving your reason for why you got a C. usually extenuating circumstances will be taken into consideration.

remember colleges really don't give a crap about PE itself. But it does lower your GPA.

I've calculated that it will bring my final GPA down to a 3.97.
Is a 4.0 that much more impressive?

Many colleges recalculate GPAs. In doing this, they add extra weight to IB, AP courses, and they don't consider at all nonacademic courses like gym.

would they really take the time to do that?

please...it's gym

haha gym, last year i had an A- in gym. I was so ****ed, no one could do a pushup or situps butthey had higher scores or at least I think they did. he probably liked the girls in tight clothes.

well, tell me, is 4.0 so much more impressive than 3.97?

Of course! .03 is such a big difference. I guess you will have to resort to community course instead, that's if you can even get in with that lack of .03. Good luck dude.

they usually take gym into account

lol i got a A- too . always wore my uniform, on time every day, but when i checked to see if this was right my teacher told me "well, it's just the fact that i don't like you that much." total bs

<bullcrap>OMG! C in PE? You're so screwed! I guess I'll see you working as a garbage man in few years. Man, you juse messed everything up</bullcrap>

<sarcasm>Yeah, give up any hope of being anything in life. Your C in phys ed will basically mean you can't get into any college, including a JC. You might as well drop out of school now, and try to get by as a professional bum.</sarcasm>

oh seriously you guys.
will it make a big difference?

4.0 vs. 3.97

Everyone is so clearly trying to tell you that it won't...

relax!! its just gym..no one cares about gym trust me

Can't you just audit the course and then retake it correspondance? I mean that is if you're that worried about it....which I wouldn't be! C'mon kiddo its PE! Although a 4.0 would be nice to keep for the sake of ~snaps~!!

I had a strong B in gym class end of 10th grade, according to the teacher. On the last day of school we had a recreation kind of activity day and the PE teacher just happened to be the subject of the "dunk tank". If I recall correctly, if you hit a certain target, it would dump him into the tank of water ... I'm sure you've all seen them. Before the dunking began, a friend and I unscrewed the lid on a jar of canola oil, beet, and sardine mixture I had been saving in my room (unrefrigerated) for several months, and secretly dropped it into the dunk tank inside a brown lunch bag. Let's just say I ended up with a 79% (C+) on my report card when it came in the mail. :( :D :D

I later heard that all of the "dunkees" could not get a "fishy" smell out of their clothing. The teacher was especially irritated.
