I am a HS senior applying for fall 2010 admissions. I realized I have missed the November 1st deadline, but I plan on having all my information in by this Friday. Will I still be considered for scolarships? I can not afford MSU without the help of scholarships or aid, but I've missed the deadline. :(

Thanks

A Really Freaked Out Senior

You will still be considered for financial aid which you can’t even apply for until after Jan 1st.

However, as for scholarships, you will still be considered but I wouldn’t expect too many unless you qualify for some automatic ones (like in the honors college for example).

The November 1st deadline for scholarships is merely a “priority” deadline. If you submitted your application before then you get the best consideration for all available scholarships. So you can still be considered for scholarships…just get your app. in asap.

Sorry, I meant to come back and elaborate on this. You will still be considered, absolutely, but for a variety of reasons I would not expect too many scholarships from MSU in general except for automatic ones. Missing the priority deadline is not critical, but like fa-la said, get it in right away.

Don’t worry about financial aid. The November 1st priority deadline is SOLELY for scholarships and has absolutely no effect on financial aid.
