Am I still competitive for Davis without TAG?

ok, so I was fully planning to apply for the TAG for UC Davis, have all my courses needed set to be completed by spring 2016, ANNNNND then I find out that my second english class needs to be completed by Fall 2015, when I planned to take it spring 16. There is no way that I can change my schedule, so I am just going to apply without the TAG.

I am freaking out, because it was my “Guarantee” and no longer is. My GPA is a 3.74, so I have no doubt I have the requirements to get in, just they take all the TAG students first, and I’m applying to civil engineering, a very impacted major, so I just don’t know if Davis will have the required space after all of the TAG students… any help/ suggestions??
thank you!

The average GPA admitted to UCLA’s civil engineering program was a 3.87. Honestly, I think you have a good shot for Davis.

Apply elsewhere, too! You are competitive. Remember, UCs consider your GPA as it stands by the end of the Fall semester, so if you can bring it up by then, you would be even more competitive.

ok, cool! yeah, my GPA should be either 3.82 W/ 4.0 this semester, or 3.75 with a B. I am just worried because I wanted the guarantee, so i am probably stressing about nothing, Thanks!

Also, if there is another safety to TAG, do that.

I think you’ll be fine but, i like @lindyk8 idea about Taging a backup. Better safe than sorry.
