I was accepted as an incoming freshman, however, I am not sure where I stand with this school. I committed and payed all of the necessary deposits, but I received an F in my honors physics course. SDSU told me if I got a D my admission would not be impacted, but I have yet to hear from them about this F. It has been over a month since I contacted them about receiving an F, but I still have not heard back from them. I have followed up with them several times, but they kept telling me that they will get back to me later, although that never happens.
I am 98% positive that I will go to a different college that personally told me I could still commit to them this late in the year, because I am completely fed up with the way SDSU is handling this situation. They have always been good at getting back to me over other concerns, but with them spending over a month on this, and them promising that it would take a week AT MOST to solve this, I am rapidly losing my desire to go here.
If I do decide to stay, I know that I must pay and enroll for orientation this Monday, but should I still bother paying for this when I don’t even know if SDSU will still take me with my F. I asked them about this, but of course, they still have not answered me. I don’t want to pay a late fee for enrolling late, but I also don’t want to bother paying and losing my money if SDSU revokes my admission.
Have you applied for financial aid at SDSU yet? If you have, you can pay for orientation with your financial aid. Essentially they would just take it out of your awarded amount for the semester. If you haven’t applied for aid, I don’t know if I can be of much help. Sorry about your situation and I really hope it all works out.
I did, but I am OOS so I received no financial aid.
