My school offers 20 AP courses. I have only taken 5 of them by the end of my senior year. Will this affect my chances into getting into a prestigious university?
Freshman year I took all regular classes 1 honors
Sophomore year I took all honors
Junior year I took 2 AP 2 regular and the rest Pre-AP
Senor year I will take 3 AP classes and all honors
If other applicants from your school are applying to the same prestigious universities with a great deal more AP classes, I would say yes, your chances are affected. Colleges will evaluate your schedule against what is offered by your school. If your school only offered 8 AP classes, I would have said, you’re OK. With 20 on offer, however, I think you will be at a disadvantage.
