So right now I'm a junior, and I studied hard and took my first SAT in January. I got a 1970, but I wasn't satisfied yet. It just crossed my mind that I should probably take the ACT to see if I do any better on that than the SAT.. and since the registration deadline for the April test is over with, the only test that is left this year is the one in June. I'm also taking my SAT II's the week before, so would that date be good?? or might it be counter-productive cause I'll be studying for more than one test?

Nonetheless, is it a good idea to take the ACT in June? How about in my senior year?

Really only you can answer this question. Are you prepared for the SAT II? How long will it take for you to be prepared for the SAT II? You can certainly study for two testing sessions by June. There are like 2 months left. It just depends on how committed you are…otherwise you can just take the ACT/SAT during your senior year, which most students do anyway.

I don’t know about the ACT, but there are generally 3 testing dates for the SAT: October, November, and December. Some schools take the January SAT.

Taking standardized tests during your junior year is only a convenience because you will probably be too busy during your senior year. However, you can study in the summer and in between everything else.

take an ACT practice test at home. If you score high enough without prep (30+), then go for it. Otherwise, wait until Sept when you’ll have more time to practice.

I’m taking SAT II’s and the ACT in June too. I also took the SAT reasoning and the ACT back to back in December which was a bad idea because it was the same time as finals, so I barely prepared for either, but I figured that since I will be out of school by the end of May, I will have plenty of time to prepare this time around
