So right now i'm a sophomore/junior in HS (my grade standing is kinda weird right now, don't ask lol) and I am just so pumped and eager for college. I mean, I'm not one of those people who expect it to be this beautiful utopia of fun and excitement away from my parents, I know what to expect, i guess, but i'm just so ready for it!

I know exactly what school I want to go to, what major, what classes and even down to what residence hall lol.

I've visited my dream school several times because my sister goes there and I just love it. I really can't wait. But I still cherish my childhood and dependence on my parents lol.

I’m excited and eager to go to college, but definitely not to the same extent. Knowing what classes and residence you want seems pretty obsessive, lol.

@CE527M Well I want to go to Washington State University. It has a 84% acceptance rate (as of 2010) and I live in-state and only know one person who didn’t get into WSU.

And plus, they have assured admission. Anybody with a 3.5+ GPA or in the top 10% in their class is guaranteed admission lol. So I think i’m safe, but you never know.

This has been the hardest year yet. Already accepted to my dream school, already accepted into the program that I wanted, and just want to BE THERE!!! High school seems so pointless right now (except, I guess, for the 4 college classes I’m taking that will allow me some wiggle room in college) I JUST CAN’T WAIT EITHER!!!

After going on official visits you come back to high school and identify less and less every time. I’m not even in high school anymore even though I have more than a quarter left

WSU is a very good school for many different majors. Are they the best? At a couple of majors, yes, but in general, no, but they offer a solid education. WSU also has a very special atmosphere about it. They also (historically) offer really good money for some majors.

Not everyone has to go to or dream to go to Harvard :-).

I wish the OP well and good luck :-). BTW, if you live in the area, you can do running start at WSU.

I’m dreading college, but I am excited that it’ll be a chance to start fresh, meet new people, and have more freedom. But when I think of the courses and work I’m about to go through, I’d rather just sit at home and eat an endless amount of junk food while watching Flash Gordon.

I’m excited for college and all, but I’ve recently become depressed about the passage of time…I can’t believe I’m 17 years old and I’m not really looking forward to adulthood.

I’m in a very different situation from the other posters on this thread. I graduated from HS in '11 and have taken two gap years. I can’t wait to start college in the fall. Mainly, this is because I want to start using my brain again. The cobwebs have really accumulated over the past two years.

I looked at some threads of people asking SAT prep questions and was horrified to realize that I hardly remember any math beyond simple arithmetic. I’m definitely going to invest in some math tutor books before entering college, just to jog my memory.

Hopefully the college curriculum will get my brain functioning at full capacity once again.
