Am I the only one who finds it funny...

....that it seems that almost every person here who asks for advice are applying to the top-top tier college schools? I don't find many people here who are average, or the people here who really need help. Instead, it's usually people freaking about about the slight chance they might not get into harvard or yale and might get into gasp UVa or Rutgers or any state college.

It's just an observation. Most of the time people are really helpful here but I just found it surprising- I would think people who could get into pretty much any college they want would have no trouble choosing their colleges, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section :). Cheers.

If you are applying to schools that aren’t expecially selective (which is most of them) or know that your finances dictate your state schools, then you probably don’t need a lot of help. So people on CC are primarily those who want to understand how the selective schools make their choices - and if they can afford something other than their local schools.

There are “B” student threads all over the Parents Forum of CC

i agree with you xoot7aa7, it does seem like people want “chance me’s” (yes, i’m guilty of them myself) or are looking for advice to get into very prestigious schools. I would agree that most people on this site are above average students and are applying to ivies (i’m not applying to an ivy though). It’s weird and i don’t agree with separating “b” students from “a” students like this website seems to do. its like the “b” students are not good enough to receive advice in the same area as the “a+” or dare i say “a” student. maybe we should have a forum for “f” students since we can’t interact with them, clearly their not good enough. even cliques can develop on the internet, just exposes how close minded people can be…i wonder how they are going to get through college if they have to interact with people that have lower grades than them. i’m not attacking you rodney either, i’m just stating my personal observations on this website. I have also found from this site that an sat of under 2100 indicates that you are pretty much ■■■■■■■■ ( not meaning to offend anyone)
