I just got contacted for a Princeton interview via email. I started out feeling pretty comfortable with my stats at the beginning of the year but after being rejected by some of my top schools/programs already, I feel very depressed. Could anyone tell me if everything about me is just too common?

SAT II: Math IIC 800
Chemistry 740
Spanish 710

EC's: Treasurer of Key Club (11-12)
President of Model United Nations (12)
Chief Editor of Chinese school newspaper (11-12)
Chinese Folk Dancing team (9yrs)
Two years summer research at Cleveland Clinic Foundation
Summer volunteer program in Costa Rica 2005

Okay to Decent essays and recs

Chinese Female (the worst thing possible) in public Ohio school

I'd say that you need more impressive ECs with your relatively low sat scores. there are a lot of apps to hyp with stats like your and i'd say that you need to have really strong essays to distinguish yourself.

HER SATs ARE NOT HURTING HER APP. in any way!
if an applicant falls comfortably in the gpa/sat range (which she does), then the decision will be based on other parts of the app.: extracurriculars, personality, etc...
i think you have a good chance :)

Thanks for the replies! I have my interview tomorrow, so I hope maybe they'll find something that distinguishes me...although I can't think of much besides volunteering. Is that big at Princeton?

Yea thats surprising... the Northwestern Undergrad rejected you? Because that doesn't seem right... well your Princeton chances seem pretty good. Where else did you apply?

No, not NW undergrad, their Honors Program in Medical Education (HPME) program. I applied to Princeton, Harvard, Yale, Duke, Upenn, Northwestern, WashU, Case, and Ohio State.
