So I submitted my application to UF (University of Florida) on November 1, but it was at like, 11:30 pm Nov 1. I went to check my application status, and it says they hadn't received my application until Nov 2. How detrimental is this to my chances of getting in?

I would call them and tell them there was an error that you submitted your app on Nov. 1st at 11:30pm. Get it corrected ASAP.

When they received it and when you submitted it aren’t the same thing. It sometimes takes them a while to download all of the applications, so they shouldn’t penalize you since you submitted on time. Ultimately, if they received it, though, they will likely consider it. I wouldn’t worry about it, especially if you are CERTAIN that you submitted it before the deadline.

I WOULD worry about it if I were you - CALL THEM and get this straightened out. They are very nice at admissions, so don’t be afraid to call them.

The thing is…I don’t even plan on going to UF. I just applied to see if i could get in. HOw badly will this affect my chances?

By “chances” - they will either consider your application like normal and your GPA/rank/test scores/etc will then come into play and that will be that. Or they will throw out your application. There is no in between.

To be honest though, there is almost no chance that they will ignore your application. If it says they’ve received it, then that’s it - they have it and probably have every intention of giving you full consideration.

On the other hand, you can just play it safe and contact the school. It would be faster than posting here… and they would actually have a real answer for you.

call them asap and sort it out. talk to your counselor too.

umich fumbled my application date as well, and i got it sorted out.
