Am I transferring for right reasons??

Hi guys brand new here, and I am in an interesting situation. I currently go to a large Midwestern state school, and I find myself unhappy with my current situation and I think I want to transfer to a smaller school by my home. Are the following reasons, good reasons to transfer though or should I instead try to stick it out more?

*I had a 3.7 GPA first semester, but those grades have been slipping since this current semester started.
*My social situation is not good, I am being pressured into joining a fraternity...my roommate (who I thought was my friend) turned out to be a two faced user, who has essentially hijacked my social life from me.
*I came to this school for a specific major, and then they dropped it. Now I have no passion for anything offered here, and my academic advisor is trying to push me into majors I don't want.
*All my fellow students do is drink/party every minute, unless I am a member of their frat or an old High School friend...then they ignore me.
*The stress of my social situation has caused my body to have uncontrolled bouts of tachycardia and chest pain, an issue I have not dealt with for 4 years. The last time this happened I was prescribed beta blockers, and became very sick as a result.

I really think I should transfer, go to a smaller school near my house and commute. I don't think dorm life is for me, but at the same time I am hesitant. My current school is all I know, but I am not sure that in my current state I can handle 3 more years in an environment here.

You went there for a specific major, but you dropped that major = excellent academic reason for transfer.

Recurrence of chronic health issue = excellent medical reason for transfer.

Realized that you prefer a smaller institution: excellent social/fit reason for transfer.

If you can afford the other school, I say pack your bags now.

Definitely transfer.

Transfer while you still have time. Keep your grades up. It’ll be OK in the end.

Transfer to a school that offers the major you want, from the sound of it you have no more reason to be there or to give them your money.

Remember by going to school at your current institution you’re tuition and dorm costs help pay your Academic Adviser’s salary. It only makes sense that the school wants you to remain there, you pay them, and yet you are not happy with what you receive in return, so leave.

Sounds like you have every reason to leave. Your major program has been dropped is a good one but the environment for you is toxic. Before you do transfer though, make sure you are going to the “right” school. Understand their commitment to your major and understand too what your options are if you wind up with a roommate like the one you have now.
