Hey everyone. I know I should’ve done a lot more research before this day, but I really feel like I may have wasted time with my application because of my family’s financial situation. I’ve always thought we were the definition of lower middle class, but it seems like that may be too much for QB.
Family of 4 (one sibling) income: ~$65K (used to be lower)
Savings & Investments: Slightly over $100K.
Circumstances: Financially support family members in foreign country. Immigrated here in 2003 and parents worked their way up.
Here is an overview of my academic profile.
GPA: 4.0 W, 4.6 UW, Rank 3 of ~700 students
SAT: 2290 (730 CR, 770 M, 790 W)
SAT II: 800 Math II, 800 Chem, 780 USH
AP Tests: All 5s - Chem, Physics 1, Eng Lang, USH, WHAP
Race (IDK if relevant): African-American
I calculated my EFC with CollegeBoard’s calculator, and the federal one was about $6K while the institutional one was $14K, and I keep hearing that it should be near 0 for QB. Stanford’s net price came at about $5.2K.
Should I even submit my application? If so, could it hurt me in any way?
