Hi guys!
Please forgive me if there's already a thread on this already (I didn't see one),
but is anyone planning on going to the Amaizin Blue Preview event (for scholarship recipients)?
I'm pretty far away out of state, so I'm debating if I should have my parents drive me 10+ hours, or fork over (my personal) money and buy a plane ticket, haha.

Has anyone done if before? It seems like a great opportunity plus they pay for your hotel and provide transportation around the area (not including the price to get to Michigan though, haha).

Lol you’ll be there for the next four years, i don’t think there’s any need to break your back for just a weekend. I live 45 mins away, and I’m forgoing the event for a concert =P It’s really nothing special, from what I’ve heard.

@Higgs7: Well the thing is, I haven’t committed to Michigan yet.
So really, it’ll be my first time visiting and I’m also trying to get a sense to see if the school is a fit for me.
Well you live in Michigan/are pretty close, I’m sure you’ve been able to see the school at least once.

Does anyone who attended it in the past know how many students participate in this event then?

I would absolutely visit before you decide. D was accepted to UVa, UT and Mich and visited all three. She did not like the vibe at UVa and then had a very difficult decision between UT and Mich. It would have been very difficult for her to decide without visiting both schools. (She chose Mich and absolutely loves it.) In any event, if you are going to UM, you will be making that 10 hour drive a lot for the next four years, you may as well get used to it.

I never heard of this event before but I just read about it. It looks pretty good especially if you have never been to campus before. It looks like it is offered to a select group of students.

If you haven’t visited before I would recommend doing so if you have an interest in attending. You could meet some interesting people there who may help you make your decision and make it worthwhile even if you go elsewhere.

I would recommend blowing off the Saturday afternoon program and going to the Big House for the Lacrosse game. They are trying to make it a big event.
