Amazing Race 2020

@coralbrook - the clue read take all your belongings with you, so I believe if you didn’t take those items with you there would be a penalty. Personally, I would have thought literally, and since those items weren’t “my belongings” I might have tripped up.

Wow some tough challenges this week --both the roadblock and detour. While the NFL boys chose the detour option that was more physical, they overlooked the important detail of how to position the melons and struggled to finish.

They should’ve followed the approach of the volleyball guys who completed that task almost effortlessly.

saw the name of the topic in Latest posts and thought it’s about election:)))) Really want to watch the show now, thanks!!:))

Hung and Chee seem very detailed oriented and not only read the clue carefully and thoroughly but also evaluate the challenge before jumping in. They noticed that the melons were stacked in alternating directions which was key to stability of the pyramid. I guess the volleyball guys did as well.

and based on next week’s preview - at least one person can’t drive a manual transmission ! every time, people

^^ @twoinanddone called it.

I was exhausted just watching that episode. Building the cello seemed so hard and detail oriented and stacking those watermelons looked exhausting. I didn’t really get the point of making the drink. Almost seemed like filler or something and everyone seemed to finish it in just a couple of minutes.

Anyone else see a double episode listed on their cable program guide? We were disappointed when an episode of SWAT came on instead of the second episode.

@MADad Yes, my DVR recorded SWAT. Seems that two episodes were supposed to air but the second one was preempted. I think it was originally for election coverage but then SWAT was substituted.

I did see the double episode listed. I was on a phone call at 7 and joined the first one late, but expected a second. Then political update came on and they never went back to an Amazing Race episode so I wondered if there was a second and we just didn’t get it because of the election update.

Guess not?

And those manual transmission challenges! Watch the old episodes people! Even my 14 year old nephews can drive a manual. Not that hard.

I was also expecting 2 episodes, and was quite disappointed when SWAT came on.

I guess you either got the election update or SWAT depending on your time zone. Can’t wait to see Paris next week!

CBS changed the schedule at the last minute, moving an episode of SWAT to 9 ET to accomodate an election update special at 10.

The revised schedule:

  • Wednesday, November 11th, 2020: Episode 5 | 1-hour
  • Wednesday, November 18th, 2020: Episode 6 and Episode 7 | 2-hours (Double Episode)
  • Wednesday, November 25th, 2020: Episode 8 and Episode 9 | 2-hours (Double Episode)
  • Wednesday, December 2nd, 2020: Episode 10 | 1-hour
  • Wednesday, December 9th, 2020: Episode 11 | 1-hour
  • Wednesday, December 16th, 2020: Episode 12 | 1-hour (Season Finale)

I thought there would be two episodes but was so exhausted by the first episode that I was glad it wasn’t on. Lol.

Watching the bottle challenge made my heart palpitate! My D could have done it with her eyes closed, but I’m not sure about me (or anyone over 50, really!). The watermelon challenge was about logic, and observation.

I really like the relationship that Hung and Chee have. They seem sweet to one another, and I think this experience will tighten their relationship.

So far loving the season! And lots of new places being explored.

It looked like they brought in special “hollywood stunt bottles” made of spun sugar so that they’re wouldn’t be shards of glass everywhere. One team member, after completing the task, I believe smashed the bottle on his/her own head.

I was wondering about those bottles! Seemed dangerous to have broken glass everywhere.

Definitely Hollywood stunt bottles!

Honestly if I would have been competing I think most of those challenges - the cello, the watermelons, the bottle on my head (HOW DID THEY DO THAT in like only 3 tries?!) would have mentally taken me out.

The football players had to be at their wits end with those watermelons.

I think this entire season is going to fly by (no pun intended!!)
