I noticed on chances threads here so many people put down, "amazing recs." Don't most people waive their right to see recommendations? How would you know if you had an amazing rec? Sure, you could guess, but that'd be pretty inaccurate. Sure, the teacher may have liked you, but they could've done a poorly written recommendations, or other things may have affected it too. So how would you know you had an amazing rec without even seeing it?

i waived my right but my teachers still showed me anyway

Same, they usually include a copy of the letter w/ the sealed envelopes.

My recs were fine, one teacher wasn't exactly the best writer, so that kind of showed.

Well, I think my recs were "amazing" since my teachers came and thanked me for giving them a chance to write recs before I went to thank them xD

I waived and wasn't shown them... I don't think they were amazing, though. Actually, I always used to wonder about that myself... how can so many of us be so sure our teachers love us?
