Ambitious, But Wary Junior

Hi all, I'm currently a junior (if you haven't figured out from the title), but I'm already really worried and skeptical about what level of college/university i have a chance at (reach, match, safety). If you would all read over my stats and list some colleges I should be going for, that'd be great.

I'm guessing Ivy Leagues are out of the question? How much of a chance would I have at places like UC Berkeley, UCLA, Cornell, MIT (biiig stretch, right?), etc?

MIT is a huge reach
its sometimes more selective than ivies..
UC berkeley is a reach too
UCLA is probably a low reach, or match since you're from CA
and Cornell is a low reach

UCs are all easy for you. Don't worry about them.
MITs applications went up 17% this year, and so did their rejections, of course. Dreaming is okay, but unless you won Intel, I couldn't say you'd get in.
Cornell is also a reach, though not as hard as MIT.

You did AcaDeca for 3 years in a row? At my school (El Camino, we've won too many times), AcaDeca is a freak show. You get sucked into it and never come out.

I hope the first poster wasn't 'on something' when posting that comment.

UCs should be your safeties. Academically, you look like a somewhat decent applicant for MIT. However, I don't know if I can say the same for the ECs because I don't believe that they're on the national scale.

I think the first poster assumed you were OOS.

The UCs are your safeties for the most part.

Cornell is way easier to get into than MIT. MIT is a real stretch, but no you don't need to be an Intel winner to get in. My friend recently got in without winning Siemens awards or Intel STS or getting to ISEF. He had a really well rounded app tho.

Good luck.

Forgot to mention that I have a Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and I'm in JV Tennis (10, 11).
Not that I think this will make a huge difference...o_o

^
It can. If you've been doing a certain EC over the years, then it shows that you aren't a quitter.
