ambivalence

i got a 2080 at this may sat. i really don't knw whether its good or bad. lol

math - 710
cr - 680
writing-690

i hav to decide if i hav to retake. cud y'all help me out?

It really depends on which schools you are looking at. If you are interested in Ivy League schools and want your applications to be competitive, you should retake and try to increase your total scores to around 2250-2300.

Infinity, I got a pretty similar score. 2120 overall but 1380 based on old SAT (680 V, 700 M). I'm taking it over again come October because I definitely can crack that 1400 and probably 2200+.

Were you pleasantly surprised by your scores this time around or did you expect to do better? I think that's what it boils down to. If 2080/1390 is satisfactory to you, then leave it alone. If you think you could go even higher, go for it.

this test was my first time. i think it was real good for a first time, n yea i was "pleasantly surprised". tht's until i came across this site, where everyone was talkin' about scores +2100.

btw, u shud knw.... i'm typin' frm the gulf, did my test here in oman, currently i'm doin' the edexcel boards (british) A levels. so a retake's not easy, i took the sat cuz i wanted to get into university of missouri, columbia.... or mcgill, canada

I'd say that's a great score then and you shouldn't worry about a thing. Most posters at this board seem to be totally outstanding with their scores. I look at the top kids at my school and even outside friends and only a handful are as high as a "majority" of the scores here.

For U of Missouri, Columbia, your scores are competitive enough. Not sure about McGill.
