Okay, this is the first time that I’m taking the AMC test so I had no idea what to expect and that test was RIDICULOUSLY hard. I only answered 10 and had to make educated guesses on 3 of them. Half the time I was just reading the question and thinking “LOL nope” and going on to the next one.

meh… too many mistakes

Took AMC 12B today…only answered 10 of the questions. I suck.

@aifusenno1 I did not answer that one unfortunately and I don’t wanna break integrity by posting it. Needless to say, it seemed challenging and there was way more combinatorics involved than what I had patience for :p

I took the 12A and 12B, and I thought the B was SO much harder… I couldn’t even answer the first 15 questions (and I’m pretty sure I spent 15 minutes on #6). I really hope the AIME cutoff is lower than 100…

AIME better be easy this year. I thought i did badly on A but i don’t think that i even qualified taking the B

^
I wouldn’t be surprised if the AIME is on the harder side this year. Anyhow, this test was definitely easier than the 12A, so perhaps a 96-98 cutoff might be expected.

For #12, is the correct answer (E) and not (B)? #13 mentions triangles of “positive area” meaning that degenerate triangles are implied to be acceptable. In that case, there are 12 possibilities… hope they decide to accept both B and E.
For me, B>A, since A had a couple questions that were directly “out of the books”. #15 was a problem copied off of AOPS vol1 with 5 digit palindromes instead of 4 digit p’s. u don’t see too many #15 freebies

Degenerate triangles have 0 area which is not “positive” (“nonnegative” includes 0, “positive” does not). I fell into the same trap. On Aops forum, they agree that B is the correct answer.

Hmmm…
I got a 121.5 on the AMC 12B… Yay?
That qualifies for AIME right? o.O
Is that score greater than 99% of the people who took it?
I heard top 1% got higher than 109.5 on AMC 12A… I THINK
Oh well~ xD

^That’s the answer key if you guys wanna compare… (if you have your test booklet with you xD)

I’m taking the AIME for the first time (10A results are out I made it with a 130.5 :D) as a high school freshman. I’m pretty concerned about this test… anyone have any prep tips?:D
