Amc 12

Anyone taking this tomorrow. Anyone have any stratagies besides 11 right, rest blank??

How about 12 right, one wrong, 12 blank?

I am taking this tomorrow too. Hope I can get more than 10 right.

Good luck. PLEASE just remember not to discuss the test at all for at least a day, so that everyone can take it fairly. Wait for all the answer forms to get sealed up and mailed back to Nebraska for scoring.

I took the test 9 hours ago (since I took it in Taiwan). Haha, my strategy was 12 right, 1 wrong, 12 blank too. Though my original 13 right strategy didn't work =P. Good luck to those students in the States!

Remember - some schools take this test in the evening, plus there's a big time difference to Hawaii. Do not discuss any problems until Thursday.

Texas137 ~ leaving aside this year's results for a while, what has happened in previous years about the 100 points versus top 5% rule? Have there been students in previous years with scores below 100 points who were qualified for the AIME?

I did the (hopefully) 11 right, rest blank. So scared. I think I'm going to have blond hair for the rest of the semester.(Bet, don't ask...)

nah alonso did worse than we did.=, or so it seems... i hope i got the 12 i answered right, then i left the rest blank. im extremely nervous.

i did the 12 Question AMC strategy. i just hoped id get them all right. lol

Well, we find out what happened in an hour. Meh...

My math career is officially over. Bring on the English majoring...

I totally shouldn't be posting on CC right now. Okay, I'm going to get yelled at in a few minutes. LoLzZ...

Crap...I messed up. I did two problems that I really wasn't sure of, and just realized I made a stupid mistake on one. That makes 12 right, 3 wrong, 10 unanswered. 97 points...oh well, there's next year I guess.

12 right, 1 wrong, 12 blank = 102 for me! yay!

Ugh, I tried the 12 question strategy too. Didn't go so well- 9 right, 3 wrong. I wonder what happened....I checked all my answers soooo many times.

Congrats, Slipstream :).

i got 11 right, two wrong...96, sucks, missed a really easy question too...actually I am not posative about that score yet, i completly guess on one question that no one in my school has been able to agree on...hopefully i can get everyones input tomorrow

10 right, one wrong, 14 blank. Was going for 11 right, 14 blank. Bleh.

I tried the 11 right, 0 wrong strategy. I just hope I got all 11 right!

C'mon guys, what happened to not discussing scores for a day or two?

In 2001, the AIME cuttoff was 86, because of a very difficult test. Other than that, there have been no other years that used the top 5% rule. Last year's AMC 10-A, however, used a 110 cutoff instead of the standard 120.

Thanks Tetrahedr0n.

i thought we coudln't discuss questions...i don't think what we scored is relevant at all...

What's wrong with discussing scores? It doesn't help anyone to know how many we got right. No one's asking about problems yet.
