AMC 12A 2016

Does anyone know when the problems might be released and the awards might be released

^Problems will be released tomorrow on AOPS. Scores and awards might take 2 or 3 weeks to be fully updated, if not a bit more.

Seems like 24 is very guessable as well. I’m quite upset with my score. Also, I think they are following through with making the middle problems and last problems easier. 21-24 were not even very difficult with a decent amount of time.

Don’t discuss The AMC

I know I agree but I didn’t want to risk it so I stuck to the first 17 bob6500

planning to take the 12B now…

Yeah same. At least there’s still something to look forward to.

I’m confident on 13 and I guessed 1… I’m debating how much I can actually improve in time for the 12B…

@lovesmath Same here coincidentally. Hope the 12B is easier lol.

Odd how some of the later questions were relatively easy.

That was my first AMC but boy was it difficult! I only happened to know about eight of them. I’ll do better next time, I guess.

@saksham I tried to sign up for B, but all the seats are full…

When can we discuss?

I didn’t complete the answer sheet using 2B pencils. My math teacher said it’s just fine but I’m not so positive about that. Gosh…

When & where are the answers supposed to be posted?

@Emblem Now is fine, you can find a ton of people posting in the AoPS forum

^Yeah, you might as well discuss in the AOPS forum where there are separate problems threads already available

I got 82.5 which is meh I guess. I was hoping to break 90 but oh well. Hopefully you guys all did better than me

btw answers posted here

Made some pretty bad mistakes. Probably not qualifying for AIME this year.

I probably asked this but what do you think might be the cutoff.

No one knows. I hope it’s in the low 90s but lots of people found the last problems to be easy, so who knows.

Cutoffs have been in the low 90s (or lower) for the past 5 years. But last year’s cutoff was a 99…
My score was 94.5 (guessed wrong) so low 90s would be wonderful.
