anyone taking it on the 16th? how are you preparing, if at all, and what do you predict for yourself?

Im taking it on the 16th and am looking over my calc stuff from last semester. Im hoping for a 120

im taking 12B. im pretty nervous, i havent prepped but i think ill do okay. im hoping for a 110 but i think ill get a 101 or 102

hey Stud - don't waste time going over calculus stuff; there's no calculus on it. Look at old AMC exams instead. Here's some:
http://www.math.ksu.edu/main/events/hscomp/samples/amc12/sample.htm

I am taking it. I have a question, when a school signs up for it, they have the option of ordering both a bundle of exams and a bundle of solution sets. What's the bundle of solution sets? Are they for this particular exam? Do they send out the solution at the same time as the exam? (Not likely...I don't think they trust the schools that much). I ask because I registered for our school, since I am the only one taking it. I may probably end up paying the registration fee, too.

AMC will send at least one solution to the exam with the exams (it's sealed in a separate envelope, not to be opened until 2 days later). The extra packet of solutions is so each student can have a solution set to take home if they want to see how to do the problems they missed.

So it looks like I ordered a set of 10 solutions even though I am the only one taking it. Well, that's $7 well spent.

well, dualty, you'll also have left-over exams. Maybe you could hand out exams and solutions to try to generate more interest for next year.

Heh - I just generated a sign-up list: it's mostly populated of studnets who wanted to miss their 3rd-period class. ^_^

Grr, no time to study AoPS when I have to work on my NASA SHARP and SIMUW apps, and some homework too.

haha, simfish, I feel your pain. I wish I had time to study AoPS too, but I've got the ACT and a Science Olympiad competition coming up ::sigh:: and all this darn hw.

Wow...we are all on the same boat. I just finished my darn numerical methods of integration homework. Stupid thing takes so long...and now I have to read two chapters of AP US History on the guilded age. The way things are going, I'll never get any time to study AMC stuff...

BTW, when you say studying AoPS, do you mean the book, or do they provide resources online?

right herrrreeee

By AoPS, I mean the book (though I'm sure the site is helpful as well)..

I'm taking the 12B on Wednesday.

I'm a tenth grader taking IB Methods I.
What kind of trig is on there?

I plan on going through AoPS and practicing old exams.

I'm taking it, also shooting for about 120

im taking amc10.. and i just want a positive score lol (nah anything over 100 is good)

I'm taking it- not prepping.

yes.

im taking it tooooo

taking it, hoping for 130+, probably will get in the 120s like on the A.
