no way to verify answers yet right?
You can ask irl friends.
I don’t know any that took this test lol
I took the AMC 10B, so I know this isn’t exactly the proper thread to post in, but I just felt like sharing my gross misfortune here. I was way too overconfident in the beginning. I missed the first three easiest questions. Yes, the ones with simple multiplication and addition. I was able to find even more mistakes, so all in all, I think I got a score in the 40s. It’s embarrassing to even type that especially because I want to go into mathematics. All I can say is that I had a very bad day and definitely learned from my mistakes. Be grateful you’re not me. :))
When do you think the AMC 10A cutoffs will be out? Also, does anyone want to predict the cutoff for the A? I screwed up slightly on both but i think i did better on the A, even though most people seem to think the A was harder this year…
Sorry^ i meant Amc 12 not 10
@neptuna basically me on the 12B
My biggest problem was managing time. I didn’t spend nearly enough of my pre-test time prepping for the exam, either, and I prolly should’ve taken the 10B instead of the 12.
At least we’ve got a couple years to try again? :I
How bad is it if you qual for AIME in freshman and sophomore years, and then completely bomb the AMCs your junior year?
Please ping me if you got these questions correct, #17, 20, 22, 23 and 25. I want to compare answers. Don’t put answers here until Monday night. Just ping me.
The 12B was much easier than the 12A in my opinion. I answered questions 1-13, 16, and 19 and I’m pretty sure I got all of them right. On the 12A I only answered 1-11 and made a silly mistake on one of them.
I answered exactly 14 questions and left the rest blank, which should be enough to get me 100.5 if I get all the questions right…
If.
I only know that two of my answers are correct right now because they were things I could easily search up, but I really hope the others were as well. I found the ones that I answered pretty easy, and the rest pretty difficult. I’m not going to be too bummed if I don’t make the AIME cut, though, because I never have in the past (although I didn’t take the AMC last year) and I’m not much of a competition math person anyways.
What do you guys think cutoff is gonna be? I think similar to 12A, mid or high 90’s but under 100
I think either 99 or 100
I think the cutoff will be pretty high since I got 87 on A and 100.5 on B. Finally made AIME after years of hard work. Yay!
Good job @masalvada123 . I thought for sure I had made it with 100.5 but I made a stupid mistake on #12 because I don’t know how to add under pressure, so I’m stuck with a 94.5. I’m guessing the cutoff will be 100 because it was fairly easy in comparison to previous years.
Unofficial answer key is up on AOPS. Got a 103.5
^^ But you can pretty much assume that AoPS has the right answers. It’s AoPS, after all.
I don’t remember all of my answers, so I’m not sure if I made the cut or not. I’m especially worried about #11–pretty sure I got the rest of my answers correct, but that one was a bit iffy for me and I’m not sure if I answered D or E.
What is the consensus on the cutoff? 100.5 or below?
It can’t be 100.5… the highest cutoff for AMC 12 is 100. I think it’s most likely going to be 100, going off the fact that it’s the B and that the test was comparatively easier than previous AMCs.
