16th ayyyy???
mostly everyone is in high school here so no one probably will respond. I might be wrong though.
I took the AMC 8 in 6th - 8th grades.
What about it do you want to know?
@lolkar yeah
@MITer94 will I be disadvantaged if I don’t know how to calculate probability with factorials? i see it all the time on tests like amc 8
I’m taking it! I’m in 8th grade
@Pitusky nice! what state?
Texas, you?
@Pitusky Connecticut. i miss living in the south. a dollar was worth a lot more
how was it this year?
@BlueFrog amcs made me feel so stupid. i didn’t know how to calculate probability using factorials so i worked it out by making a tree diagram lol
@BlueFrog also question 25 killed me so hard. if i get over a 15 i’ll be really suprised
@bawbdmo if you know exactly what a factorial computes, calculating probability using factorials generally shouldn’t be too difficult.
Of course, AMC8/10/12 probability problems can still be very challenging.
LOL… good one.
But don’t you think it was much more difficult than in 2014?
My feeling (and my friends too) was that this year was way above what we had practiced. Maybe I am not a math genius but my best friend was Russian (great at math!) and even she complained about the level.
And, as per our math teacher words: this Russian girl was born in a calculator in her brain… LOL
@bluefrog yeah when i was thinking about the amc all I did was think to myself “25 questions in 40 mins” instead of thinking about the problems
