Do the top tier schools consider AMC/AIME heavily? I know MIT looks at them, but how much weight do they have in the decisions process there?

schools that are heavily interested in recruiting strong math kids place a lot of weight on AMC/AIME scores, since they test at a much higher level than SAT scores. If you plan to attend a liberal art college and major in English, AMC/AIME scores won't matter at all.

i didn't report my AMC/AIME scores on the application and i still got in

if you did exceptionally [USAMO+ quality] and play to a strength in math and and indicate you're interested in C18 it can matter a lot.

If you only did ok, it shouldn't really matter at all.
