AMC/AIME scores on MIT app

Hi everyone. Should I mention my AMC/AIME score if I have only managed 112.5/4? I realize that 112.5/4 cannot compare to USAMO/IMO qualification, but would the admissions officers rather see a modest showing or no performance at all?

An aphorism that might apply to this thread: "It is better to keep your mouth shut and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."

P.S. Please do not carp on the erroneous representation of pi; I realize that I typed several extra digits when selecting my username.

Don't write your specific score, just write you were AIME- eligible or w/e, or if you were a high scorer in your school.

4 is GOOD. That's probably average for MIT.

And 112.5 is nothing to be ashamed of.

And MIT applicaions have a space for the tests. It would look suspicious if you said you took the tests but you didn't write down the scores.

Actually... I don't believe that's a good idea. That may be "average," as stated above, but it's "average." Realize that there are many others with higher AMC scores. My two cents.

Honestly, my feeling is that since most applicants don't even take the tests, writing down any score is a bit of a bonus.

If you'd like a more definitive answer, you could post it on Matt McGann's blog and get it answered by an actual admissions officer at MIT.
