The AMC 12 B cutoff scores came out today. The cutoff score is 100 and it looks like I got a 99 :(. If I were to put my score on my application, do you guys think that colleges that are not high profile STEM oriented schools like MIT and Caltech would know what I was talking about?

bump…anyone?

Are you sure the cutoff was 100? Three of my students qualified for AIME after AMC 12 this year and I believe the lowest score of three was 94.5 (could be mistaken). We only allow the honor level students for sit for the exam and many of the high scorers add this to their accomplishments for colleges. STEM schools are familiar with this exam.

The cutoffs were 93 for the 12A and 100 for the 12B. I got a 93 on the 12A. Now I actually have to study for the AIME (because I didn’t expect to qualify AT ALL). Not that I’ll make USAMO or anything, but it’d be nice to get a few AIME problems right.

OP, many schools have heard of the AMC, and even to make it to 99 is very difficult. I think you should put it, unless you have something better.
