hello, i would like to begin by saying that i have read a lot of the existing AMDA threads, but most of them are very old.. A lot of problems i saw people had with AMDA in past post was that they did not offer a Bachelors Degree in fine arts.. AMDA of Los Angeles infact does now offer Bachelor degrees and is considered a Conservatory..

with all that said i would like to tell you a little bit about myself. I am an Singer,Dancer,Actor ,and Musician..a performer. i have been singing and dancing for as long as i can remember, and have been acting on stage for about 3 years. I wish to go to college for Musical Theatre.

I would really love to hear what you think about AMDA, it looks nice and looks like a very good school to attend. But i also dont know much about it.. so please give me your opinions.
same thing with Weitzenhoffer School of Musical Theatre, i would love to hear your opinions.

Are you looking at any other schools? Why are you focused on these two schools in particular? Would love to know more about your criteria for picking a program.

hey thatsawrap! im wanting to go to school for musical theatre. schools im looking at are Elon University,AMDA,The Boston Conservatory, University od Cincinnati Conservatory of Music,Weitzenhoffer,Carnegie Mellon,Marymount,Emerson University,University of the Arts… these are all schools i have been looking at, (if you know anymore schools with great musical theatre programs please feel free to post) the problem is im not very strong academically, im a b/c maybe an a every now and again student, i havent taken the ACT yet but im a very good “test taker” i know that many arts schools are based more on audition rather than ACT score, but i plan on making anywhere between a 23-25… and i bring up those 2 schools specific schools is because those are the 2 i dont know much about.

you may want to look at Monclair State, Rider, Point Park, Shenandoah, Pace, Hartt Coastal Carolina, Plymouth State. Off the top of my head these are all MT programs that do not require as strong of academics.

Elon does require stronger academics, I believe. Not sure about Oklahoma.

Do you have a non-auditioned academic and financial safety school on your list?
