The title says it all, what states have you visited? Only count states if you actually left the airport...

I've been to...

Alaska (home state)
Arizona
California
Colorado
Hawaii
Nevada
New Mexico
Pennsylvania
Washington

I've had layovers in North Carolina, Texas, Minnesota, and Illinois before. I never stepped out of the airport in any of the layovers. In total, I've visited 9 states.

Virginia (home state), Ohio, Illinois, Washington, Colorado, Georgia, Florida, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Maryland, and not a state, but D.C. 11 states visited (not including home state), plus D.C.

I’ve had a couple layovers in Pennsylvania.

Kansas (home state)
Missouri
Oklahoma
Maine
New Hampshire
Massachusetts
Connecticut
New York
New Jersey
Pennsylvania
Virginia
Maryland
Florida

If you count driving through (but not stopping anywhere meaningful)
Rhode Island
Delaware
West Virginia
Ohio
Indiana
Illinois
Kentucky
Tennessee
Arkansas
Alabama
Georgia

Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New York, North Carolina, Ohio (home state), Pennsylvania (lived here), South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, West Virginia. So 17, and I’ve been to Washington, D.C.

These weren’t all significant visits, but I’ve never flown, so these are the states I’ve been on the ground in. :)

California (home state)
Pennsylvania
Virginia
Maryland
Minnesota
Illinois (just the Chicago O’Hare Airport lol)
Ohio
Indiana
Georgia
Texas (just the George Bush Airport in Houston)

So 8, because I don’t really consider stopping at an airport as being in a state.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I’ve also been to Hawaii when I was a tiny unstressed baby, but I don’t remember that all… so…

California (home state)
Hawaii
New Mexico
Arizona
Texas
Pennsylvania
New York
Maryland
Delaware
Rhode Island
Connecticut
Virginia
Massachusetts
New Jersey
D.C.

Excluding all of the states I have just driven through or flown into without any meaningful stops:
California (home state), Arizona, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah

So, I have visited 14 states other than my home state.

I have been to all states except: Alaska, Hawai’i, Delaware, South Carolina, Alabama, Montana.

Next month, I will drive through Alabama to South Carolina, so it will be even less. I have been to Montana, but only in the airport.

My kids have been to upwards of 30 states each. We took a ‘family vacation’ and did 26 states in 10 days. 4700 miles of family bonding! I think it helps to understand the variety and vastness of our country to actually see the places in the textbooks.

I haven’t been to that many, but I’d definitely like to later on.
Nevada (home state), Indiana (lived here until I was 2), California, Washington, Utah, Colorado, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Maryland.

Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, Connecticut, Maryland, New York, and Mass… so basically just the east coast

We’ve driven through all of the states, visited colleges up north, and lived in a few places for at least a month

California (home state)
Nevada
Arizona
Florida
Georgia
New York
Michigan
Pennsylvania
New Hampshire
Massachusetts
Maryland
North Carolina
South Carolina
Washington DC
Virginia
Delaware
New Jersey

and had layovers in Texas, Washington and Colorado

Illinois (home state), Indiana, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Nevada, New York, Virginia, DC (I don’t know if you guys count that or not), Maryland, California, Missouri, Florida, New Hampshire, Michigan.

New Jersey, New York, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Mass, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, and Rhode Island. And of course Florida.

15, I guess. I think that I’m forgetting some though.

Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, Illinois, North Carolina, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.

Georgia (home), Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, Iowa, Ohio and not really a state but I’ve been to Washington DC, too. so 8/9
