I'm an American student (a junior) who is looking to apply to the University of Edinburgh this fall/winter. I want to take International Relations, which I know is a popular course. I took AP US Government and AP French sophomore year and got a 5 on both, and I am currently taking AP World History, AP Language and Composition, and AP Calculus AB. I am expecting to get a 5 on the AP World and Lang exams, but I will probably only get a 3 or 4 on the Calculus exam. I am also planning on taking 5 more AP classes my senior year. I have also take the French SAT Subject test and got a 770, and I plan on taking a few more subject tests. I haven't taken the SAT yet, but I think I will get at least a 1900, as I tend to test well. However, my overall GPA isn't great (about 3.4 I think) thanks to the bad grades I got in middle school. But, I heard that the University of Edinburgh doesn't look at you transcripts, just your test scores. So, does anyone know if I have a chance of getting in? Thanks for reading my ridiculously long post.

Dear Savmm,

Based on what you have written you should have a pretty strong chance of being accepted! The UK schools really depend on AP scores and the SAT. U of Edinburgh will want you to score a minimum of 1800 on the SAT with at least 600 in each section. Assuming you do well on the SAT and get the AP scores you expect should should be an excellent candidate for U Edinburgh. Good luck - the time until you are applying will go by quickly!!

My daughter is an American student recently accepted to the University of Edinburgh!!
