I like wearing stuff from Wet Seal and Limited express and random cheap-o boutiques near my house.

yay for originality. :P

I like wearing stuff from Wet Seal and Limited express and random cheap-o boutiques near my house.

yay for originality. :P

I wear a lot of small-obscure store stuff

like I said, my shirts are mostly band-related or something from Hot Topic with a band or a current fad like letâs say âInvader Zimâ or âPokemonâ (yes, I wear pokemon shirts!)

and my pants come from mostly FOREVER 21 (itâs a girls store but they have guys clothes too)

I rarely buy from any AE, Hollister, etc.
I just donât like having the brand name on my clothes⊠I like a graphic, I much rather have a picture of Pikachu on my T-shirt than a banner saying Hollister

Being a hipster is just as bad.

âand my pants come from mostly FOREVER 21 (itâs a girls store but they have guys clothes too)â
I bet you wear skinny jeans.

I also bet, that if you were to sing, youâd be a soprano.

anyway, please continue wearing whatever you like⊠whether its high fashion, the ash gray tshirt and plain pair of jeans that one of my better friends wears every day⊠or something in between. just be cognizant of the fact that hollister in particular, and ae to a lesser extent, are indeed brands targeted at the 14-17 demographic. if that doesnt bother you, great (as i said, wear what you like). just dont be expect no one to make subconscious judgments about your maturity if you choose to do so, just as a hipster or goth or prep or whatever should not expect to never be subconsciously judged as strange or weird or rich.

sorry but CK, Lacoste etc. > Hollister and other cheap brandsâŠ

lololâŠbut seriously, personally, I HATE BEING A WALKING BILLBOARDâŠA&F, Hollister, AE are soooo last year for me when I was stupid and clueless (Iâm a junior in HS right now)âŠI now prefer interesting and unique tees and hoodiesâŠthey donât have to be expensive or anything⊠:D

P.S but honestly, if you have a good body (particularly thick and meaty), even a cheap white tee can look goodâŠso why not spend the money you use on AE, AF, etc. on working outâŠits also better for you.

IM NOT A HIPSTER

I wear watever I want, graphics, pictures, heck, een shirts with stripes or just nothing, one SOLID color and thatâs it!

haikumarukuchan

Sing for me.

Oh wait donât, you might shatter all the glass in the room.

H i p s t e r

Personally im a senior in HS, and i love to buy shirts from Hollister because they fit me perfectly, like no other shirt from any store.
Ived bought shirts from many places: AE, A&F, JCPenny, PacSun, UrbanOutiftters, Vans, Aeropostale, Zumies and so onâŠ
And no other shirt fits me exactly like it to fit, like hollister shirts do.
Plus i like wering the colors, i like how their clothes make the shape of my body look.

So i think its stupid to judge people for wearing specific labels and so, and sometimes its so easy to forget mainly why people buy these brands, because of the actual clothes, not because of a label, or trying to look cool and all that stuff.

Then you should probably eat something.

People buy them because theyâre popular and they think others will think theyâre rich for wearing these brands when in reality, rich people dont wear that trash.

For me, these stores donât really jive with my style of dressing too much, but if other people like it and want to wear it, more power to them. For me, I find cultivating my own personal style more interesting than making sure my labels match.

I think many should understand that not all Hollister, American Eagle etc⊠clothing have labels on them. I usually prefer the clothing without the large labels, because I like how they look. Though I would buy a clothing with a label of Hollister, American Eagle etc⊠written on it, just not as many. Call me a walking billboard, but that would just be making a ridiculous statement. Basically I can ram on about other comments Iâve read, but I rather not. I would like to let others know who likes these name brand stores as me⊠What many cc users make it seem, most college students careless on what namebrand your wearing or whats written across your t-shirt. Itâs your own style, and as you may notice college is full of open minded students. With the post your reading about these stores on cc users I wouldnât even count as a fraction of college students opinion. Itâs obvious in college wearing what you want, such as Hollister, the likely of one or more making a big deal out of it is none.

I think people who are taking all these hits to Hollister, A&F and other stores personally, and are feeling offended, need to get the heck over it. If you wear these clothes, you will be stereotyped. Itâs how the world works. No one actually hates you for it. Stop being so sensitive.

i think people should look up stores like american apparel, urban outfitters, h&m and start shopping more for what looks good on them, not by what label it has on it. its not your âown styleâ if its all from the same store so please dont claim it is. and all of those people who buy all your clothes from hollister, abercrombie, etc dont try to say that its unfair for the rest of us to stereotype you, because im guessing youâre doing it right back to us.

FME, a lot of people do wear these brands. You guys are right that the flashy labels/graphics arenât as popular, but if you know the typical merchandise of these stores youâd be able to recognize that a lot of people do wear those clothes. Iâm at a very large state U, so maybe itâs different in the smaller private colleges, but Iâm guessing the people who say no one wears it just arenât familiar enough with the brands to recognize the regular-looking clothes.

Well as a post mention above about other stores such as urban outfitters etc⊠Iâm one who like those stores, and would buy clothing from there, but I also like ( and will buy clothing from) Abercrombie, Hollister etc⊠most post are imply as if you buy clothes from Hollister, Abercrombie etc⊠you buy no where else. Iâm also not getting offended buy critizism of these stores for many reasons, such as 1. it comes to no surprise the bashing of these stores are high on cc. I just think itâs ridiculous how many cc users act towards these stores, but only reminded many towards personal issues such as clothing, life reasons etc⊠donât take what many cc users imply. The view of these stores are completely different on a campus, knowing such by students I know who actually attend a university.

âPersonally im a senior in HS, and i love to buy shirts from Hollister because they fit me perfectly, like no other shirt from any store.â

from any store ? yea right ? find better stores :p

im european, and we like to pride ourselves on our clothes so here goes!

im a lot for ralph lauren and burberry kinda stuff, just gives a good impression to teachers, and it looks good + ive always been a huge fan of them :)

then i also wear a lot of diesel, and that kind of stuff, just mixing it up to create my own style which looks great based on solely this semester, at least 10-15 girls have come up to me asking if im european ;D haha and saying they could tell from the clothes :)

either way, i think its all about what YOU like, i like kind of nicer clothes, and i dont mind paying for them⊠but if u like hollister, sure go with it⊠just know, ull most likely get respect/noticed in a good way if u wear more mature clothes :)

also, a few good recommendations:

H&M, its from sweden(like me!), they have really awesome basic clothes, like tshirts, jeans, cardigans and stuff, that is cheap, unlabeled and looks good :)

Zara, Im pretty sure its from spain, its just like H&M, really awesome clothes :)

American Apparel is also cool, its like the same thing tooâŠ

These were all just basic clothes stores

Then theres diesel, ed hardy(but not too much), replay, D&G, Hugo Boss who all have kinda designy cool clothes, always nice to have a few pieces to add some variety also i guess armani exhange has a few cool pieces from time to time

Then like, ralph lauren, gucci(the most discreet versions imo), YSL(omg so nice clothes, soo nice⊠), armani, and that kind of stuff make u look great!

now i gotta go to class, would make the list longer otherwise! GL
