American education - Indian Job?

Hi,

I was just wondering if it hard to get a job in India if you completed high school - grad in US? let’s say the profession is to be a doctor (psych).. How is the environment? Competition and any other info I need to know about.

Another question,

I am currently in high school and I have been accepted to average universities here in US. (top 100s but not top 50s) and have scholarships as well, And I was thinking about applying to couple of universities in India (maybe Manipal).

I do know that it is hard to get into a grad school in US if you complete undergrad elsewhere but what process does a person have to go through from other countries to enter a med school in US?

Or if a person does undergrad (pre-med) in US and wants to do grad in India what is the process?

Final question,

Is it possible for a person to go through two years of undergrad in India and transfer to US to finish undergrad?

basically I'm just confused if it is better for me to start undergrad here or in India (because there is a high possibility that I will settle in India as most of my family stay there..) but I do have an option of finishing both undergrad and grad here..

So any experiences, tips, opinions or anything would be nice!!

There is no point doing undergrad in america and coming back to india for jobs. as the pays are way higher in america as compared to those in india. You can do two years in India and two years in america from Manipal but the chances are you will be studying in just an average college and not a great one. either study in india and work either in india or abroad or study abroad and work abroad completely. Dont mix up else you will only taste disappointment

People usually dont go finish undergrad in India since they have different systems. A lot of Indian diplomas for undergrad are only 3 years.

The reasons people go from US to India for education:

They want to do medicine right after high school

Medicine after undergrad in US because they could nt get into a medical school

They got a seat in a top engineering school as a person of indian origin quota

They have a business school admission in one of the IIMs (if it is possible)

You guys really think you can’t work in India with a US degree? I am all set to study abroad and work in India. I hope I can :S

There are a lot of people who studied in US that currently work in India.

I am only providing advise on why one would want to study in India.
