I was wondering if taking american history is compulsory for all international students in the states? Austin i know requires 6 hrs of american history, but do different universities have different requirements? </p>

Or international students living outside the states?</p>
<p>For the latter, it is not compulsory - generally, taking 2-3years of history or social studies is usually reccommended.
Dunno about the first one.. though I would say it's 'recommended' also.</p>
