<p>I Think im going to take it in May after the AP test because thats when its still fresh in my mind. I need to also know what books are good for this exam.</p>

<p>I used the Kaplan book. I found it very helpful as a a fairly quick review. It's not very detailed though, it helps more with understanding concepts and ideas. I got a 780 on the test.</p>
<p>Is it a good idea to take the SAT II US History test without taking an extensive history course? I've taken a semester of 20th century US History, and am fairly confindent in my cramming/learning/memorizing abilities...but stilll. I'm taking an AP US History course senior year, but I think that'll be too late because I plan on applying ED somewhere.</p>
