Anyone watching the auditions? I’m just starting. I was meh on the first one they put through but can’t pull myself together and stop the tears for the second one! Back to it…
Me.
For tears, wait until you get to the last audition
Oops forgot. Name of contestant, @skieurope?
Kya Monee
Anyway, I totally forgot it was premiering on Sunday until after the fact.
As a trivia note, they revived Australian Idol after a 14 year hiatus. Harry Connick, Jr is one of the judges. He’s lost none of his straight forward tell-it-like+it-is commentary that he exhibited when he was on American Idol.
After taking a break I got to the young man from Hawaii who sang the Janes Blunt song Monsters - I didn’t buy tissues today & I can see I should have. What a beautiful rendition.
Clearly this is going to be cry myself to sleep night. OMG!! She’s amazing and while her audition may not have been the best her emotions came through.
When an artist can take you into their emotions that’s magic.
It wasn’t the best audition of the night (that was Tyson IMO), but it was the most emotional
I don’t have a tv so have to wait a week to watch. Thanks for the reminder!
Oh I remember when Willie tragically died in an auto accident (it was local news here). So sad, and such a moving tribute.
And lol I watched Sunday. Didn’t realize it was a rerun .
American Idol posted an audition which will air this coming Sunday if you want to get the Kleenex out in advance
Well I guess I just must need some healthy cries because this week’s auditions are bringing the tears as well!
Anyone else remember Phil Stacey from Season 6 - the season won by Jordin Sparks? I do. I can’t believe his daughter, who was born during his audition, auditioned herself last night. Time flies.
I remember him, but frankly didn’t think his daughter earned a ticket to Hollywood - of course I understand that many(!) will be cut straight away so we’ll see where she lands.
Oh, I agree. That was clearly for emotional drama. She won’t last.
I also thought the first woman should it have gone through either. But what do I know.
Thank you thank you for sharing. I don’t watch American Idol anymore (haven’t for several years), but this was so moving. And yes, I went through a linen embroidered handkerchief (bc I’m southern) and Kleenex watching that clip. Wow.
Edit: just reading other comments… guess I was past due for a good cry too.
