<p>What percentage qualifies an applicant as an american indian minority and how does it still count if you have the percentage but not the documentation?</p>

<p>Most external scholarship programs will require tribal registration. Different colleges and universities will require different levels of evidence if you are applying for specific scholarship money. As for just calling yourself X for statistical reasons (as you would when responding to the 2010 census worker at your door), that would be an entirely different thing.</p>

<p>Some schools have “enrolled” (in a tribe) and “not enrolled” check boxes. Some require enrollment. Some require enrollment or cultural ties. I wouldn’t be surprised if some want a certain blood quantum (or either a certain blood quantum or enrollment). But always find out the individual school’s or scholarship’s policy.</p>
