American/Israeli dual citizenship- serving in IDF?

glido, thanks for your heartwarming response.
I think everyone is following the situation in Egypt very closely, history is in the making.

Just an update for all those who helped me:

While the idea of serving in the military is becoming more realistic, both my parents agreed that I should apply to some colleges (they’ll pay the fees for 5 colleges, any extras I’ll pay for.) I think this allows me to apply to ANY colleges I want whether I “qualify” or not because if I don’t get into any, heck, there’s always the army.

Basically they don’t want me to shut the doors yet on colleges… but in all reality, I think next summer I will be in Israel. Thanks to all!

Numero1 - we’ll be keeping you in our thoughts.

Hey I hope you see this. Please reply! I am in the exact same situation as you were. I’m a senior in high school born in Israel and moved to the U. S. Maryland. I feel exactly the same way you did about the army. I know you probably finished your service. I was hoping if you could tell me how it was? Do you regret it? Or is it the best thing that has happened to you? PLEASE PLEASE REPLY

Knowing what you know now. Would you have went to college first?

Or still choose the army? Please see this
