American or George washington for political science

i need some help real quick. As far as academics go for studying something related to government or political science, or perhaps looking as chances to work in a political setting after school, which school would suit better? i kno both schools are in DC and have great opportunities, buch which one has more resources? If nothing else, and i know this does not matter as much, but which has a higher ranking?

thank you to all, i appreciate the help

they are very close
i think GWU is ranked slightly higher than AU
GWU is in the city and AU has more of a campus feel to it

i suggest applying to both and see which school is cheaper

When I asked a friend of ours who has worked for the State Dept. in foreign service for 25 years (and is a Nietzche sp.?, JHU grad) what were good undergrad programs, the first one he mentioned was American's. It may not be so highly rated as GW overall but its IR program is very well regarded.
My son had a speaker at his school yesterday to talk to SGA members, at age 32, an AU grad had interned at the white house and now is an advisor to Bill Clinton.
I'm not necessarily biased, my s is applying to both schools!

Neither. Both are Georgetown safety schools and everyone knows it - including future employers.

You’re being sarcastic, right? I’m not even looking at GU - ugh, what an atmosphere. GW and AU stand in their own right. At worst, AU is a safety school for GW for SOME students.

^^ Gtown guy

…and that’s why you don’t go to Georgetown. Unless you like being arrogant and misinformed.

I hope you don’t take his overzealous confusion as representative of our entire student body. I promise once he is here he will better understand the respect Georgetown has for the DC trinity.

arrogant and misinformed . . .

or you get accepted. LOL

Or you don’t even apply to Gtown because you prefer AU. Just an idea.
