American Pageant or Amsco Notes?

Hey guys. Today I had my first exam for AP US History. It went pretty well and there were no major curve-balls on the test. As preparation for this exam, I studied vocab, class notes, and American Pageant textbook notes that I wrote myself. I didn't find the class notes as helpful as the other two- in fact, I think those notes lacked a good amount of detail.

I've heard that the AMSCO book is great for the AP exam and all, but is it sufficient enough to ace class tests? How well does it summarize the info contained in the Pageant? Does it leave out any important facts? Anybody have experiences with using it for the class?

The reason I want to switch to taking notes from AMSCO instead of the textbook is because the latter takes up so much time since there's several pages in each chapter. I really don't have a lot of free time, especially with other AP's and EC's. But I don't want to risk lowering my grades by switching the source of my notes.

Thanks in advance for the comments! :)

in my perspective, i think you should stick to doing notes on the textbook just in case your teacher uses questions based on the book for the tests. If you do notes on AMSCO, then you probably won’t do well on tests. Sure it is more relevant to the AP Exam, but tests in the classrooms are usually based more on a textbook than in general with the APUSH curriculum.

Thanks for your input  I guess I will have to take fresh notes from AMSCO come AP exam time.
