American student wanting to study in Ireland or the U.K

Hi!

I’m currently in my junior year and I really want to study in Ireland or the U.K. I don’t care if it’s a great school or a top rated school at all and I would be happy to be accepted into any.

School history - I’ve been to a few different high school including continuation schools, online programs, and independent study.

Grades - My grades Freshman and Sophomore year were terrible but in Junior year they became good with multiple A’s and B’s and one C and they are still good with only A’s and B’s.

Test scores - My test scores have always been high. On all my standardized tests of high school have been either advanced or proficient but usually advanced.

I’m still in an alternative school which includes some online classes (history, science, elective) and other offline classes (physical education, math, and English). Would my chances increases if I went back to regular high school for my senior year?

My main question is what could I do that would help me become a better candidate?

I understand that the chances aren’t great but I’m willing to try anything and word hard to make my chances better. Please be polite and I appreciate any help or answers I get! Thank you.

Are you sure if you want to be accepted into just any? The problem we have in the UK at the moment is that some degrees in certain universities are really not worth it. And that’s in a lot of unis. E.g you’d prefer to study Psychology in Imperial college rather than the lousy University of Bedfordshire, because I know so many who have studied in UoB but not all of them got the job according to what they studied. Maybe it doesn’t necessarily have to be a Russel’s Group (basically the UK Ivies) but one that is worth what you want to study.
Just do your best in your grades. A*s are possible, get them.
