American students applying to McGill- decisions??

I applied to McGill back in early November, and my final application piece (first semester grades) was checked off on minerva a week ago. Does anyone have any ideas on when I will find out about admission/scholarships? Also, on the application status checker it says I applied to two faculties- Science and Arts & Science, anyone know how that works?? If you've gotten in (or rejected :) ) it would be cool if I could see your stats to see how I stack up (34 ACT, 3.99 weighted GPA, 5's on AP Calc AB, US History, Chemistry, English Lang, 4 on European history). Thanks!!

also, my current admissions status is ‘further review required’, if that means anything

Haha you made me laught ! Of course “Further Review Requiered” means something. That means that you are not in yet. They can’t give you a decision because they need more documents about you for your application. Search on CC you will find a lot of information !

Hi Guillaume-- don’t worry about further review required. It just means either that they haven’t switched it since your semester grades came in (if you know they’re there it’ll probably be changed within a day or so. But as to when you’ll find out…well…it could be tomorrow, or it could be March 25!
My stats are 33 on the ACT, 4.6 weighted GPA, 790 in SAT2 Bio, 5 on AP Bio, 4 on AP US. Currently taking all honors and AP (have done so all four years).
My status on the site is “reviewed, decision pending” and has been for over 2 weeks!
HOpefully you’ll get a decision more quickly than me. Some who get this status seem to get a decision within a few days. Others take weeks.
My guess is that it has to do with: 1) volume; 2) where you fit in in terms of what they happen to need most (boy/girl/minority/geographical location etc etc); 3) where you happen to fit in this year in terms of ranking among those who have applied.
Ultimately many of those who get this status get in. (Most? Hard to say. It’s definitely a step above waitlist and a leap above rejection!).
Hopefully you won’t end up playing the waiting game. But don’t fret about the further review required – if it’s there for more than a few days just call and see what they’re missing. It refers strictly to documents and NOT to quality of application.

For the scholarship offer, you will have a link once you will be accepted on Minerva. You will be able also to ask for a Entrance Bursary … Good luck and keep us informed :)

American and accepted

I’m in! I applied for the Arts, and four or five other kids at my school got in for that too. A lot of people, however, are still waiting on decisions from Arts/Sciences and Sciences (maybe Engineering too?). I think it’s just taking certain departments longer.

Thanks for all the help! I was out of town and just recently found out I was accepted! However, on minerva when I click on “Financial Aid and Awards” all I am brought to is the Major Undergrad Scholarship which is still “in process”. I also see no info for financial aid…does anyone know when this will come?

Accepted into the Faculty of Arts! However, I would like to transfer into Sciences. I was told by Admissions that if i have strong science grades first semester I can transfer to science. Anyone know how difficult it is to transfer?

Can’t you still apply to McGill? It says Fall 2011 applications are still open…
I’m considering applying if the rest of my college hunt here in the US doesn’t turn over well.

I am still decision pending :(

@overachiever: The application deadline is long past for all categories of students.

AGH still waiting to hear from schulich! 2240 SAT, 3.75 unweighted GPA, 8 APs, 740 and 720 subject tests. HOPING FOR THE BEST
