Suggestion please on where my daughter can study American Studies in the usa. She is interested in civil rights esp. Loves Uni of Colorado Boulder but they have Western American studies. She is looking for mid size, all American (football, basketball), non frats, with mixture of people (shapes sizes and colours). Any advice gratefully received. She is an excellent student with B average. (i.e. works hard but gets Bs).
Help.

Try re-posting this in the College Search forum. I’m not entirely sure I understand what “American Studies” would consist of, so you should elaborate. At AU, the Justice, Law and Society program in the School of Public Affairs would probably interest her. Note that schools where football and basketball are a big deal are quite likely to also have a large frat presence.

AU’s College of Arts and Sciences offers a major in American Studies although I agree with MommaJ that you will find more success posting this in a general college search forum. AU doesn’t have a football team so if that’s one of your essential criteria, that would strike it from your list.

For reference, here’s AU’s American Studies major: [American Studies Degree Programs & Information | American University, Washington, DC](http://www.american.edu/cas/american-studies/index.cfm)
