American U. Transfer

Last year I applied to this school and got rejected... darn! So what the hell, I'm applying to transfer. I'm from Chicago, but am going to the University of Delaware (they gave me a big scholarship which I'd abandon in a second for a spot at AU). I'm honestly feeling ive got mixed chances... it's a small school of 5,000 students (approx 1,000 per class). The freshmen retention rate is 89%, so figure I'm in the competition for about 100ish spots.

Here's my stats:
High School GPA: 3.3
1 Semester of College GPA: 2.57
ACT: 23

I'm actually the founder of Delaware's first debate team, so I'm hoping that works for me in the co-curricular sense. I have 1 A, 2 B's, and 2 C's in college (inc. a C-) I'm attaching an explanation of that C- to my app., as well as a further elaboration on my founding of a debate team. They actually said they look at any other materials you submit, so I'm putting in some press clippings of me.

American's stats:
85th ranked nationally
Middle 50% ACT: 25-30
Avg. GPA: 3.5
60% Transfer Admit. Rate
To the School of Public Policy (the school I'm applying for) min. GPA req. is 2.5

I have a feeling that the odds are kind of against me, but I wrote a strong app essay and the reason for the C- has a plausible explanation relating to a disability I have. Still, I'm kind of nervous so I'm wondering what you guys think...
btw, AU is in Washington DC if you're unfamiliar

also noteworthy- the average GPA of transfer applicants is 3.1. But each college has a specific min. requirement. The most popular Int'l Services college has 3.0 min while the rest are either 2.7 or 2.5

Your GPA is really rough man. Well there is a good chance I will be leaving this school so you can have my spot. Hell, I also debate on APDA so maybe you can take over the team as well! Anyway, I know a kid that got in here with a 2.6 as a transfer so anything is possible(just make sure you tell them you want to pay full price).
