@lacazette9 now this is getting scary…
Don’t worry, @htran15127 , I’m sure everything will turn out fine
@lacazette9 by AU account you mean myau.american.edu right? I’m still unable to create mine.
I made my my.american.edu account but have no decision yet. Says that it’s still under review
It is very highly unlikely that anyone will receive a decision by mail today. Depending on when they mailed the envelopes yesterday, they may get to a select few people in the DC area today, but most people won’t receive the envelopes until Wednesday at the earliest. More likely, Thursday and Friday.
With regards to online decisions, the AU Admissions Twitter specifically stated that decisions will only be released by USPS mail for domestic applicants.
About the myau.american.edu account, where do we find our “AU ID”? or we don’t need that to sign up?
My daughter’s AU ID was to the bottom of the last email sent out.
My theory on being able to create a myAU account is that it’s driven by when an applicant’s letter was dropped in the mail. Those dropped yesterday should be able to create one. Those being dropped today probably won’t be able to until tonight or tomorrow, and so forth.
AU probably fixed the glitch that allowed every accepted student to log in on the first day letters were mailed.
It was in the email you received after you completed your application.
Just tried, can’t create an account yet (perhaps denied, perhaps not).
I think to give all the prospective students and parents a bit of relief we should stop attempting to create an account and just wait for the pony express to bring the decision letters.
The waiting is killing me though
I live in central Virginia so I’m hoping that I’ll receive my decision Wednesday. I’m freaking out…
Louisiana,Wednesday or Thursday, I guess. Fingers crossed for my DD.
Me, too
I live 15 minutes away so I’m hoping to receive a letter today!
They send rejections as well as acceptances in the mail at the same time right?
checked my mail today (I live in central Maryland) and saw nothing
They didn’t mail everything out yesterday
Check their Twitter
They are continuing to mail throughout the week
So anytime this week
Hi all, my D is waiting to hear from American, too, but as for snail mail, I thought I should share our experience from two years ago. We live in the Chicago area, and my son was waiting to hear from his first choice school in upstate New York. They mailed notifications on a Tuesday, and we watched on CC as they trickled into people’s mailboxes across the country. It seemed every single person he knew had received all their notifications, but the West Coast really had to wait for their snail mail from the East Coast. My S ended up receiving his acceptance the following Monday (which included watching April 1 come and go without his knowing). Thinking back it was less than a week, but at the time it felt like an eternity. Best wishes to all, and as my son just told his sister on his quick trip through after his spring break: “Stay strong.”
Parent in NC here. Nothing in mail today. I really do not understand the value to these schools of using snail mail. It is environmentally unfriendly, more expensive and hugely more stress-inducing. None of the schools that my older daughter applied to did things this way, and I really am not enjoying it. My son is waiting for two snail mail decisions. Ugh.
nothing in mail today. live about 30 minutes from DC.
@slmheels There is definitely something more sentimental about receiving something in the mail than a few words on a computer screen. I’m inclined to believe that is part of why every school which releases decisions online also sends a physical letter or package to every accepted student.
