American University Class of 2014 RD thread

I see all these messages from people who have heard… AU is my first choice. I have not hear ANY thing. I think they send in batches. Does anyone know how it works? Today I was told that all the letters were mailed last Friday…On the other hand, they say we should wait until April 1st. Confused and anxious.

My “S” got no scholarship and a minimal AU Grant- practically nothing. Although, they did come close to meeting our EFC. We were hoping for a higher scholarship since that is renewable for 4 yrs.

AU still only uses the SAT CR/Math for scholarships - not Writing (Writing was 770). He had a CR 670, MA630, GPA (UW)3.85. No scholarship - must be a very strong class for 2010-2011.

At this point we’ll be looking elsewhere.

Wish everyone the best, but 52K/yr is a lot of dough!

I have yet to hear either! I live on the west coast so the mail is probably just taking forever but still!

i live on the west coast and i havent gotten mine either. however, two of my friends who live out here have. im freaking out. i havent gotten anything, either acceptance or rejection. whats the deal american?

^BBB - Did you just receive your package today?

I haven’t heard yet, and when I look online it doesn’t say either…

I talked to an admissions representative today and she said that they students would receive their decisions in the mail by April 1 the latest, but probably sometime next week. Try not to stress about decisions. Best of luck to everyone!

I still haven’t received my package. But, I got an email inviting me to a reception “in honor of [my] acceptance.” This is in San Francisco, hope that helps :)

Still waiting here on Long Island for my son to hear. His friend got his at the end of last week and only lives about 4 towns away. I thought this was a safety school for my son and he would get scholarship money, but now I am getting nervous- no email, nothing but the general email about the waiting for the letters of acceptance and rejection time being almost over.

Waitlisted at American, but accepted to NYU…something wrong with this?

^^ same. I got accepted into colleges more competitive than American as well, but I got waitlisted at American.
