American University ED (I and II) Decision Thread **CLASS OF 2020**

I just got off the phone with my American University admissions representative who told me that I’d been admitted ED I!! I thought that the office of admissions was only sending by snail mail this year, but I guess not… Anyways, throughout the duration of the admissions process, I often found myself anxious as there wasn’t an ED decision thread for AU! I always wanted such a thread to exist and its existence probably would’ve saved me a lot of time and anxiety over the last few months! I thought it might be a good idea to start an ED Decision Thread for the reference of next year’s prospective parents and students (since the variability of the ED admissions has such drastic standards from the RD pool)!!

Here’s the template we’ll be using for posting decisions and stats. Copy and paste this into your reply, and you’re set. Please try to keep this thread clean until you’re actually notified- discussion will carry on in the ED discussion thread!
Good luck, and Congratulations to the Class of 2020!

I got in with a 45,000 a year scholarship also

@deazy98 hey congratulations on getting in!:slight_smile: What kind of scholarships/need based aid did you get? Just curious!

@Senior1098 I was awarded the Tuition Exchange scholarship and got an AU Grant as well! And thank you, congrats to you too!

Oh cool what is the Tuition Exchange? And how much grant did you get? Totally don’t have to answer if you don’t want too! I’m honestly trying to figure out how AU distributes their financial aid!

@deazy98

@Senior1098 tuition exchange is not technically a scholarship, but instead a very valuable employee benefit received by employees of many universities providing free tuition to their children at participating universities.

Wow that’s amazing congratulations! If my finances work out I hope to see you there! @deazy98

And thanks for the info :slight_smile: @jnkam24 are you attending American?

I mean it is called the Tuition Exchange scholarship and it is competitive

11-40% of applicants receive it

http://www.american.edu/americantoday/features/20100119-tuition-benefits-explained.cfm

Just to clarify for senior98, this scholarship is only open to students with a parent that works for a university in the exchange network as an employee benefit, the general public is not considered for this scholarship.

Wow wish I had access to that:( thanks for the info! @deazy98 @jnkam24
