Found out D was accepted by doing the portal trick and later got the email and decision in the Future Eagle portal. She received no merit aid and only a $900 AU grant.

Alum here. All waitlisted students who really want to go to American should let them know that if accepted you would go (or if youāre accepted and your financial need was met you would go). I think they get concerned about yield and worry you might be planning on committing to Georgetown or GW. Iām rooting for you!
Yes. They did interviews via Skype this year due to the coronavirus shutdown and moving to online classes.

Congratulations to everyone! My DS was accepted! He found out by clicking the email and going to the future Eagle site and viewing the application āupdateā status.
For future applicants, none of the ātricksā or ātellsā worked for him. The glitch that people saw a few weeks back indicated he was ārolled overā and Recommed was ādeferralā. Also, he wasnāt able to create an account in the MyAU portal like others and wasnāt able to view anything indicating he was accepted. He still canāt seem to create an AU account/email via My AU portal.
But, he is thrilled to have the acceptance letter on his Future Eagle Portal!
